From Hide to Hero: Our Leather Sourcing Story
Our leather journey starts long before a single stitch is made. We source our hides from tanneries across Italy, Argentina, and Pakistan — regions with centuries of leather-working tradition and the expertise to produce consistently exceptional material. Every hide we use begins with careful selection at the tannery level, before it even reaches our workshops.
Full-grain cowhide is our workhorse — it is the most durable leather we work with, taking hardware and stitching beautifully while developing a rich patina over years of wear. We source our cowhide primarily from Argentine tanneries known for the quality of their Pampas cattle. Lambskin comes from Italian tanneries in the Veneto region, where the tradition of soft leather crafting goes back generations.
Goatskin offers a unique tight grain texture and natural water resistance — ideal for pieces worn at outdoor events. Buffalo leather is our heavyweight choice, dense and textured with a distinctive appearance that ages dramatically. Suede, split from the underside of cowhide, provides a softer aesthetic and matte finish popular for vests and accessories.
The tanning process uses vegetable-based dyes where possible, resulting in colors that are rich, deep, and lasting. Every hide is inspected before cutting — we reject any material with inconsistent thickness, scars, or blemishes that would affect the final piece.
